I don't have any bare skin on my arms and doubt anyone could read numbers written over my tattoos. I guess being a tattoo fan makes getting your race number seem extra "cool", but it doesn't seem as neat if it they end up on my forearms or legs.

For me, they just wrote over them extra dark.  It only sorta showed up, but it didn't really matter.

This is what I've experienced too.

Not to worry.  They only number the limbs so they can be matched to the correct torso later if need be.

They give you an extra race number and staple it to your arm...you're all set!!

When I do body marking, I don't bother if someone has a full sleeve.  If I can write it below the number (like for a half sleeve), I'll do that.

I'm fully sleeved....there is no where to put it above, below, no where so they just put it on top

They tattoo your number on with skin color ink.

I have heard that some good race organizers bring a white marker to the race for those with dark skins. I suppose that would include tattoo's.

My personal favorite is the calf marking which they insist on even though I explain its going to be under a compression sleeve/sock Undecided

I always thought this would be a good idea, I have a silver sharpie that shows up great on dark stuff.
