Are your cycling shoes the same size as your running shoes? (Given small differences in manufacturer design?)

My road shoes are a full size, if not more up from my cycling shoes - might be due to the fact that I feel more comfortable with a bit more room in the running shoe, whereas if I do that with my cycling shoe, my foot will literally pull out of the shoe on hard climbs.

I run with an 11.5 in Nike and Zoot (sockless).  They fit snug and I like that.  I had Sidi T2's in a 45.5 and they were perfect size.  Just upgraded to Bonts with moldable sole and got the 46.  Debated between 45 and 46 (no half sizes available) but I think I made the right choice, but have only molded once and ridden once - I'm planning to repeat the process.  Bont calls 46.5 an 11.5 (tried - way too big).  I have a narrow foot, FWIW.

I run in a women's 8, but most of my regular shoes are 7.5.

My road cycling shoes are size 39 Diadora Sprinters. It's spot on for this size chart: http://www2.bsn.com/cycling/shoe-sizing.html

cycling shoes tend to be narrow. especially nike and shimano.. (shoes i have tried..)

so i would say its dependent of manufacture..

i wear a size 11.5 shoe, i get my running shoes in 12's.. (sacouny)
my bike shoes are specialized trivents and are 46's.. they seem to fit me best. they felt wider and more comfortable than a nike or shimano at same size.

No.  I normally wear an 8 in regular shoes, a 9 or 9.5 in running shoes, and wear no more than an 8 in cycling shoes.  I think my current tri shoes are about a 7.5 converted (why can't they be normal sizes?) and they fit like a glove.   I have found conversion charts to differ even from manufacturer to manufacturer, so I feel like they must be tried on more than any other type of shoes I might buy.

I wear size 9 running shoes (adiddas and saucony), and size 40.5 cycling shoes (shimano...conversion table says it's between a 7 and 7.5 US).  I prefer my cycling shoes very snug though, and I don't wear socks.

I wear size 7.5-8 work shoes, and 8-8.5 basketball shoes.
