Has anyone here become a statistic and experienced Achilles tendonitis or rupture during or following a course of Cipro?

I'm about 7 days into it and completed a course of prednisone too, which is supposed to increase the chances of an adverse incident.  Its really messing with my head.  Yeah, I'm reading all of the internet stuff.  Sometimes I think I feel a little soreness there but I'm not sure.

I resisted but doc cultured the bug and he pretty much insisted on Cipro, so I agreed.

Anyone draw a short straw on this?

Yes! There is no question in my mind that I developed Achillies Tendenoses from taking the drug. Never had any tendon problems before taking Cipro. Cut back on my workouts and was doing a workout I had done many times before. Hit me like a ton of bricks. I have been struggling with it now for years.  Good luck.

Sorry to hear that.

Yeah, I have a suspicion that not all cases get reported correctly.  Docs say its like a 1/1000000 chance but it SEEMS to be a bit more common.
