It seems we are dwindling in terms of goal listers. Anyone still game? The thread started originally by thecaptin actually been helping me stay at it. I won't list mine if nobody else wants to play anymore.

The third time's a charm...the first 2 months haven't been.

April:  80M run, 300M bike, 4M swim

Kudos to those that accomplished their Feb. and Mar. goals.

I'm still in.  Shifting focus from run buildup to run maintenance and swim/bike buildup.

Swim 2x per week (one long continuous/recovery swim; one workout swim)

Bike 3x per week (or as directed by DH).  This means the trainer.

Run > 100 miles

Hi friends...

I have had a really rough year personally so far.  Im kinda homeless right now so its been really hard making a routine.  Anyone who has to travel and live in hotels a lot and who is able to train...I am sooo impressed...Irony that its happening during my first year trying to do an Ironman.

siighhh....

even so...my goal is to just try and workout enough this month to end April feeling like I am still a triathlete of some form...anyone who is riding in or around Atlanta or swimming in open water...please invite me to come along...I really need some training buddies about now...

Boy I sound pretty pathetic huh?  lol...its been tough but I am a trooper...hence my love of endurance sport...

I'll play again for April...

Swim-40,000+ Yds/Meters (I missed two Masters workouts last month that kept me from hitting this)
Bike-Probably around ~600-700 miles. It's time for the long stuff!
Run-More frequently...last month was the first time in 4 months I haven't hit 100+.

Cartersville Duathlon-solid on both runs and a fast bike.

Funny how I recognize you from your dog.

Why? because Swimming is a great way to build your aerobic capacity and gain fitness without a lot of wear and tear. Plus it keeps me skinny :-)

See, she's cute when she's not barking at you.

You know, all you coaches sound just alike.   Maybe instead you can just take it easy on the Ramen noodles.

I hope you get things back on track TriALi!Also neat that we have rocketman and 15step doing IMCDA with me. I'd feel so alone otherwise 8)

Also note to y'all that its good to see old Shanks checking in on the Ga forums especially now that he lives in ATL. He's been a really good coach for me even when he was living in Philly and he will likely have alot of rubbish great information to offer us on the boards. The down side of him being on these boards is that he now knows the trash I talk here and he has to help figure a way for me to back it up haha.

As for April goals, I am comparing to the March of 2011 and September of 2010, which was roughly the equivalent time to IMCDA as I was in my build for IMFL. Trying to shoot for somewhere in the middle to above both maximums in all three sports. Here is the data I will shoot for, bearing in mind I am aiming for 200 run miles this month:

March's 2011 totals:
Bike:34h 31m 19s  - 733.44 Mi
Run:23h 48m 56s  - 181.42 Mi
Swim:11h 24m 30s  - 34150 Yd

September's 2010 totals (raced Augusta so there was a mini taper/recovery):
Bike:    33h 46m 53s - 672.76 Mi
Run:    18h 00m 09s -137.93   Mi
Swim:    12h 40m 07s - 35012 Yd

ok, the truth of this is, i should really put what Cube put down there about listening to his coach. but the goals helps me to keep focused. Shanks is concerned about the 200mi # so it may have to come down some and thats alright.

and also want to note no mention of whooping thecaptin at tanner or shanks in the run at tanner. that is like a chicken wing.

15Step-You don't know how much I wish that was the case. Shanks put the kibosh on me this week. Then I had a swim vetoed this afternoon by Mrs. Slayer. Between the two of them, watch out when I get let off the chain haha

Was shooting for minimums of:

370 mi bike (nailed it)

100 mi run (nailed it)

17500 yards swim (came up short but plan to right that tomorrow with a 4k OWS early before G-day)

Here is where I ended up at the midway point:

April's totals:
Bike:21h 15m 18s  - 404.94 Mi
Run:14h 17m 01s  - 106.52 Mi
Swim:5h 18m 40s  - 15800 Yd
Strength:1h 00m

Where did y'all end up? Hope you had more success than Slayer this half of the month (or will pound the back half of the month)!

April's totals:
Bike:4h 25m 44s  - 78.9 Mi
Run:2h 54m 03s  - 21.05 Mi
Swim:4h 27m 30s  - 11900 Yd
Strength:1h 35m

My front half is looking pretty weak! I'm short on everything but the bike! However I have a secret weapon starting on Monday so watch out!! Mind you May will be bigger :-)

I wasn't going to post after seeing phat's totals, but now that I see Shanks', I feel much better about myself.

April's totals:
Bike:10h 44m 40s  - 163.93 Mi
Run:4h 55m 11s  - 27.56 Mi
Swim:1h 45m  - 5150 Yd
I know, I'm lacking swim majorly.  I blame being sick on at least 5000 of those missing yards.

I will swim, I will swim, I will swim.

And I have another bike tonight.  It's my weak link, what can I say.
