Bikescore and xPower are similar to TSS and NP and were developed by Dr. Phil Skiba. They give slightly different results than one would get in WKO+ but the differences tend to be small. You can read about them in Skiba's books which are available on his website.

This pdf from Skiba's website tells the relationship of xpower to bikescore and how both are derived and the underlying theory.

Depending on how indepth you want to get, you can actually find the algorithims for xPower and Bikescore. I think that there is also a Powerpoint that goes through the details of each and while it includes the calcuations, does a more hand waving approach to the proof of concept.

i simply want to understand that is all.  i used wko+ for 8 months but my pc fried.  for about 3 months i have used GC....but now i want to understand the numbers little better.

i understood TSS, NP, iv...but with these new terms i wasn't sure if they were completely different or what.

GC is the bomb.  the critical power curve, the histogram and aero lab are great tools.  i love the ad-hoc reporting you can also create.  love that i can track my 20 min and 60 min power for the last 6 months.

If you were good with TSS, NP and VI, then I would say that you are all set. I use a combo of GC, WKO+ and RaceDay (depending on what the athlete uses and what info I would like to tease out of the data) and while there are small differences between TSS/BikeScore and NP/xPower, I can't recall any instance where I saw a meaningful difference in the numbers.
