I have been having some trouble with my right calf.   12-15 or less  min into a run, PAIN.  No problem   during the swim or on the bike. I tried different approches before a run like warming up well and streching, ofter a 30km bike, and even after a swim. still no luck.    Went to the physio last  Tues, suggested to keep from running for 6 to 8 weeks. Currelty being treated and I still can ride and swim.  I plan on going to the event, my first tri, a sprint and doing the swim and bike.  If all feels well I might try to run a little and finsh up walking.

I had a friend who was signed up to do the Half Vineman, but he over-exerted himself on a ride a couple of weeks prior to race and developed an over-use injury.  He just came to do the swim and then gathered all his stuff and went home.

I would go for it...it's your first tri, and you have worked hard to make it this far. Obviously, don't go out there and hurt yourself, but walking through the finish line is (in my eyes) better than a DNF (especially if you don't even try!).

Dooooooo eeeeeeeeet!

That's a PDNF, Planned DNF.

Better than DNS (start), or SNHC (should not have come). Do your best, and stay healthy doing it! Good luck!
