Seriously though, I'm a pretty big clyde, 270 right now. I am not a bike guy, just went to my LBS and got a decent roadie, with the pedals they had available and shoes to match. I have Shimano pedals. I am sure there are lots of great opinions on one pedal vs another, but if you're asking about weight related issues, I think we're safe with just about anything out there. When I asked the bike shop guy about supporting my weight, he sort of looked at me funny. I still think of myself as weighing 360 at times. 270 is still way too high, but under the limit for treadmills, etc.... If you're over 400, there may be other considerations.

Agreed. FWIW - I use Crank Brothers Eggbeaters on both my mountain and road bike. I like the simplicity of them. |
