Total Time = 1h 11m 27s
Overall Rank = 63/349
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 2/21
Pre-race routine:

Trainer for 15" this morning to wake up. Drove with Christie to the Race site. It was nice racing so close to home. All I had to do was roll out of bed and go. I might race more often if it was always like this.
Swim
  • 05m 19s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt really good about my swim. I did better than I thought I would especially since I didn't do flip turns under the ropes. I haven't quite figured that one out yet. That's for next year along with navigating in open water. Only 1 guy passed me. I think doing the video with Greg really helped two weeks ago. I felt like I was moving.
What would you do differently?:

Learn to snake swim more effectively.
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

This was the fastest transition I've had to date. I am excited. Didn't wear socks today and I think I never will again. (Maybe on long course)
Bike
  • 41m 20s
  • 14 miles
  • 20.32 mile/hr
Comments:

I would have liked to have pushed it a little harder, but I didn't know how fast I was going and didn't want to blow everything for the run.

I was the 4th fastest female on the bike overall.
What would you do differently?:

I think putting my aerobottle on my bike is affecting my computer I need to get it figured out b/c its a little annoying. Luckily I knew where the 7 mile mark was from having drove the cours, but it would have been nice to know avg speed.
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

Can you believe it. Less than a minute and I got a drink of water!!
No socks and speed ties really shave off the seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 22m 58s
  • 2.9 miles
  • 07m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

I lost 1st on the run. It felt really good though. Its just something I need to work on. I kept my cadence high and just floated along the course. Its funny because the run used to be my strongest leg, and now its my weakness. I ran crosscountry in highschool for the love of god. I guess all that rowing in college made me better suited for the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Spend time in the offseason on my run.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate pasta. Sat in the shade. Talked.

Event comments:

I really enjoyed myself at this race and was very appreciative of the post race food. The volunteers were awesome and I thought the run was spectator friendly. It was nice having little kids wave and cheer for you. Plenty of post race shade an picnic tables to lounge on.

Awesome bike leg. One of these days I am going to beat you. I think you beat me by about 30 seconds at Ironhead Dallas and by about a minute today. Congrats on placing in your age group. Is this your first time to place?

Gary, you know saying you are going to beat me is just going to make me work harder, you've got to do it stealthily.
It was my last race of the season, so I'm glad to have had a good run finishing it off. I'm already planning next season's racing.

Yeah I know. I'm glad I can be some motiviation. The reality is you probably have nothing to worry about. I think you beat me pretty soundly at BSLT Half as well. I am glad to know this was your last race this year. That means I will be 1 place higher in the overall standings at Prairie Man and Stonebridge Ranch. Enjoy your off season.
