Congrats Teech and great job!!  I am glad you did well on your HIM. Its great to hear that its possible to go from sprint to HIM. I am contemplating making the jump to HIM next season after 2 seasons of sprints, 5ks and 10ks. Still not sure yet but thinking about it. You have given me reason to believe I can do it and I thank you for that.

Great top ten list. Great to see your dedication pay off. It will be fun to see how your list changes with your next race. I had a goal of running everything except the aid stations that I needed and it was a great mental win for me to be able to keep running when walking looked so delightful.

Awesome. Inspiring. I'm jealous you've completed 70.3

I'm just getting started and enjoying the sprint and oly before making the jump up.

You can do it...it was one year ago this very weekend that I even went and watched a triathlon.  I did one sprint in August--yup, my HIM was my second ever tri.  I just put my head down Jan 1 and trained my butt off!

That kind of statement requires pics!

teechur:  Great post, clever writing, inspiring stuff!

I am planning on/praying for/plotting for my first HIM this coming September (that is, if I can get it all together, both training and money).

It's really helpful to read what you've learned, especially about how it's not really the gear (aero helmets, aero bars, etc.) but the engine.  Reminds me I need as much time in the saddle as I can find, and makes me grateful for the time I spent last winter on the trainer.

What I found MOST helpful was your counsel re. snot rockets.  Good to know!

Congrats!!
