Do white saddles stay white?

I dread to think what colour you thought it was going to go.....................................

Made the mistake of purchasing white bar tape.

I have to clean that after every ride, and once before every ride...Good on ya for asking before making the purchase!

This one didn't.

Depends on the saddle.  My Fizik Arione Tri2 has stayed white with some routine cleaning, but some others have discolored.

FWIW- If you like white bar tape, Specialized makes some good stuff that cleans up very well.

I have a white saddle.  Bike is around two years old I think?  Decent about of miles...  It's still pretty white.  In my experience, they get the most abuse or chance to stain is when you have a mechanical on the road...  You touch a greasy chain to put it back on after you drop it, or hands get dirty while changing a tire...

But like others have said, just a decent cleaner/degreaser.  I use a kitchen degreaser/cleaner, or just WD40 if it's handy since I do all my wrenching in the garage... 

I have white bar tape too.  I wish I could say that it stayed white.  It's more grey now.  But it sort of adds character.  Shows you have been RIDING... (or just never wash your hands?)

Oh man, i just read that thread....  Funny and nasty all at the same time. 

I've had white saddle and tape for about a year now and they still look good.  When I brought it to the bike shop for a tune up they cleaned everything for me and it looked awesome.  I asked what they used and they showed me a can of shaving cream.  The white foamy kind.  Works like a charm.

I use lemon furniture polish -- the spray kind, it looks good on the bike's clear coat and also gets the dirt out of the bar tape.
