Subject: second hand Cervelo P2C opinion wanted

Hi everyone,

I am in the possibility of buying a second-hand Cervelo P2C bike (bike was originally bought in 2009) with a Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLR wheelset and SRAM Force group  (completed with a Profile Design aerobar) for a little over 2000 euro (or about 1800 pounds or 2900 US dollars). The bike seems to be very well maintained and has few mileage. Anyone have an idea whether or not this is a good deal ?

Kind regards,

T.

I think it's a good deal as long as those are the wheels you want.  Otherwise you might see about buying without or see what you can get reselling them.

I would say...no. A 2011 P2C with ultegra (equivalent to Force) retails for $2400 usd. You are basically trading Cervelo's warranty for a cool set of wheels. You also have to figure at some point you are going to want to swap something out, whether it's aerobars, saddle, stem, etc. Your LBS can help you with those items and most usually give a discount if you purchase them when buying a new bike. I'd personally rather spend $2400 and have Cervelo's frame replacement policy.

I don't think the buyer is purchasing in the US.  Cervelo's can be a tad pricier in other regions and the wheels alone go for about $2500.
