In the book, the Bellefleurs (sp) are direct descendants of Bill...so I REALLY hope that he's not dating Portia.

I also hate that Andy is an addict!!

Isn't Andy a Bellefleur? I was wondering that last night if he was related to Portia.

nighthawk - 2011-06-27 1:41 PM  BTW...what's with Tommy being with Hoyt's mom? Is he looking for a sugar momma? Is she looking for a son since Hoyt is out of the house?

She gets a son and he gets a doting mom. I really hope it's not some kind of relationship. Ewww

The relationship theory crossed my mind last night and it wasn't a pretty sight.

As for fairy world looking like a bad syfy channel movie, once the landscape changed, it reminded me of early Star Trek: The Next Generation. Just goes to show how effects work best in dark settings when on a budget.

I don't think those were fairies. They were goblins posing as fairies. Total speculation, though. I haven't read the books. I think fairies and goblins are related.

I cannot believe I am in this thread, and commenting, but here we are.

He is. Portia isn't supposed to be that pretty, lol.

That actress was also in Dexter... she is smoking hot!

I remember her. She was the reporter who turned out to be (SPOILER ALERT) the daughter of the Trinity Killer, right?

My wife pointed out that the witch who channeled Eddie the dead vampire is the same actress who plays Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter movies.

Nice, I didn't even catch Aunt Petunia.

Yep, but I still don't see it lol.  She's either a pretty good actress (good voice control) or they've got some great makeup.

That also reminds me of something:  most of the leads, who play people from Louisiana, are not even American lol.  Anna Paquin is from New Zealand, Stephen Moyer is British, Ryan Kwanten (Jason) is Australian, Alexander Skarsgard is Swedish

At least the guy who plays Hoyt is from Texas and Arlene's actress is from Georgia and Sam's actor is actually from New Orleans.

That's why they call it "acting".

Actually, Anna Paquin's Canadian by birth, I think, although she lives in NZ.

More trivia:

Rutina Wesley (Tara) and Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) both went to Julliard.

Ryan Kwanten is a former triathlete.

Ryan Kwanten has said that when people see him in public, they think he's doing a fake accent just so people don't think he's actually Jason.

I watch my True Blood on HBO On Demand, they have a bunch of behind the scenes nonsense, that I'll occasionally watch.  I believe that's where I heard him say that.

Nelsan Ellis was recently on Attack of the Show and he said that he gets most of his inspiration for Lafayette from acting like his mother.

As soon as Lafayette’s on screen I start grinning, because I know he’s going to say something hilarious.

“Jesus and I agreed to see other people, but that don’t mean we don’t still talk from time to time” is one of the best lines in tv history.

I thought it was the other way around.

But in reality, born in Manitoba to a Kiwi, moved back there when she was 4.

My wife read them all; I read the first four before the poor, childish writing with the romance overtones pushed me away.

We did watch the first episode last night. I fell asleep a couple of times (still recovering from my flight back from VA), but what I did see I wasn't thrilled with. Bill's character is just annoying and to have him as the king? I don't see how that even makes sense.

Episode 2 is on demand right now if you want to get a jump start on next week. I won't mention anything until next Monday...but it was a good episode.

Yeah, I watched them back to back on my On Demand on Monday.  Did they not air the episodes back to back?

After seeing Episode 2 here is my break down...

Episode 1 - 1/3 like the "24" Prequel movie to the last season to set-up the 1 year gap in plot. 2/3 = We are HBO, let's show some nudity!

Episode 2 - The real season premiere for plot development purposes.

Wait until Tuesday! I have to find a quality torrent and download it to watch after it airs because there is no HBO here. That is, unless someone wants to buy and setup a Slingbox for me. Laughing

After tonight's episode, I am even more convinced that the alleged fairies that took Sookie away from earth, were not in fact fairies but goblins. Eric did not just destroy a fairy, he turned a goblin into its true form before it turned to dust.

Boy, they aren’t so good at moving these secondary plotlines along are they? I wonder how many more episodes Jason is going to spend chained to a bed. I've reached the “get on with it already ” stage with the whole Hotshot/Panther Family sub-plot.

Did anyone notice the book that Sookie was reading at the dinner table about 2/3 of the way through last night’s episode? Clever.

The actress who plays Portia Bellefleur is carving out a nice career for herself as “hot secondary character that gets naked almost immediately”. Is there an Emmy category for that?

Pam and Jessica never disappoint, do they?

There are some mythology genres where Fairies can have a darker-side like sprites, imps, pan/satyr, or even as extreme as sirens or banshee.

I don't remember all of the books that I read in my youth, but I remember some of them ranging from mischievous to manipulative/evil if they did not get what they wanted.

in terms of keeping an open mind on where the plot will deviate.

Of course, we are probably at the point where knowing what is in the books can be more of an impediments that not knowing that they say...
