Did anyone notice the book that Sookie was reading at the dinner table about 2/3 of the way through last night’s episode? Clever.

In the first season, grandma was seen reading the first book a couple times.

I'm liking the witch storyline so far...could really care less about Jason and the panthers.

I learned some useless trivia about Pam...played by Kristin Bauer. She was 'man hands' on that episode of Seinfeld...well, I'm sure it wasn't her hands and I hope it wasn't her hands, but she played the woman.

It was a book by Charlaine Harris, the Author of the Southern Vampire Series on which the show is based.

So many story lines....And now Joe Lee is back ready to make Tommy a cage fighter again.  Yuck.

WHY did they have to mess up Pam's face.  Dang witches.

Anyone notice that the Grandmother was Katherine Helmond...she played Mona on Who's the Boss?

Terry and Arlene's baby is really creeping me out. Wondering if it's a Rosemary's Baby kind of thing.

Wow—good catch. I haven’t thought about Who’s the Boss in decades.

Something tells me that it’s not the baby doing the creepy stuff—that someone’s messing with Arlene and Terry. No one ever sees the baby doing anything, and, if I’m remembering it right, the scene with the magic marker was shot in such a way that you couldn’t even see the hand of the person holding it.

So, in one episode, we have: vampires, witches, shape-shifters, werewolves, were-panthers, and faeries. I think we’re down to only a handful of main characters who aren’t some kind of supernatural being: Tara, Jason, Hoyt, the Bellefleur boys, and Arlene. And I think the jury might still be out on at least a couple of them.

I've probably said it before, but Ana Paquin cannot act her way out of a paper bag.  Good thing she was young and cute when she won that oscar, cuz I don't see any more heading her way.  Whoever plays Bill isn't much better.  Maybe it's trying to hide the accents.

My wife likes the "new" eric too, but that's about it.  The show is losing me (again)

I kind of figured that showing skin on pay-cable was kind of the "well, I am young and hot, so at least I can make some money doing this" acting role.

Then again, there are a lot of serious actresses that showed a lot of skin early in their careers.

Helen Mirren comes to mind.

I think that with cinema, things have gotten polarized to where there is "serious" roles/movies and "skin" roles/movies.

I actually think that it is better to have more nudity in the story lines without making the show 100% "Skinemax".

Uh oh, I feel myself needing to run from my "a few glimpses of nudity gets an R or NC17 rating, but kill as many people, as graphically as you want... and you can put it on network TV" soapbox.

There was a recent "editorial" in the LA Times (Calendar section) about nudity on HBO and how it's gotten a little too frequent, that storylines are adding nude scenes that weren't in books just for the salacious factor.  Although it did note that the last scene in Game of Thrones was the best use of a nude scene ever on television (Danyreas (sp?) rising with the dragons...)

There is no doubt that it is a sex sell$ issue.

(I am a big believer that mere-nudity is not necessarily sexual, but I will never believe that the media can separate the two.)

I don't have pay cable (I watch True Blood on the internet) so I am not familiar with any of the other, current series.

I did see the "prequel" to Spartacus... no doubt that 99% of the mini-series was gratuitous violence and sex.

Unfortunately, my standards and opinion of Hollywood is so low, I believe that adding gratuitous sex and violence to a plot-line is an improvement, because at least there was a plot-line to add it to...

especially, if the story is based off of book, as opposed to "how weak of a plot can we get away with to justify all of this sex or violence."

Ok, I am really getting tired of Nice Guy Eric on TB. I hate the vampire he has become now and can't wait for him to get back to his normal self.

Loved the scence with Jessica until old Hoyt ruined it.

This show is just getting weirder and weider in my opinion.

I like the historical aspect of the witches and the vampire priest.  (The Spanish Inquisition!).   Lots of story lines running around and not going anywhere.....
