Subject: How fast will Ironman Coeur d'Alene sell out?

Can anyone speculate? How long did it take for 2011? Trying to see how long I have to decide.

It's always a guessing game especially for events like CDA which are gaining popularity. I think it took a while to sell out in 2010, and a few weeks in 2011.

But who knows. I think Western Australia didn't sell out at all in 2010, then sold out in 2 hours for this years event. Boston Marathon took 2 months to sell out for 2010, and 8 hours for 2011.

You just never know.

As a side note, it was my understanding that Western Australia reduced the number of registrations available, which is one reason it sold out. This had the secondary effect of causing more people to shift to IM New Zealand.

I'm curious if IMNY and IM MT will draw some away from IM CdA since they are within a few weeks of each other.

Lastly to the OP, if you're interested in a specific race, always best to register sooner rather than later.

Since IMCDA is right in my backyard, and I did it in 2010, I've followed the sellout timing the last couple of years. Both years is took over two months to sell out. As the above posts indicate, no guarantee for this year, but it gives you an idea you might have some time to pull the trigger.
