Subject: 2007/2008 Cervelo P2-SL - good value at 1k?

Hi All,

First time poster, beginning tri-trainer.  I apologize if this should go in a 'newbie questions/answers' thread...

I am a long-time runner who's just now been bitten by the tri bug.  I went in to a LBS and got sized at 56 cm for a road-bike..however, the ones they were trying to push on me were far too expensive for my beginner tastes (i.e., 2011 Cervelo S2 for $4k).

Online, I found a used Cervelo P2-SL (the yellow one with full Ultegra components), and I went and inspected the bike, and couldn't determine what year it was (I'm assuming 2007 or 2008).  Everything seems to be good on it..and they're asking $1k.

Should I go ahead and pull the trigger?  I'm about 95% there.

Thanks,

ACG

That's ballpark what they go for on Ebay, Craigslist etc.  However, if it doesn't fit, it's $1000 too much.  That's an very long and low frame.

I purchased the exact same bike locally for $900 last year, just to give you an idea.  It was my my first tri bike and I really like it.
