Fit to FIght Kid's Triathlon - Mason, OH

Anyone been to this?  My 9yo daughter is racing this weekend, her first triathlon.  Her dad (me) was supposed to race as well, but chickened out because he's been slouching off his training for the past 2 months. 

Anways, online it says chip pickup ends at 8:45am, but the kids race doesn't start until 11am.  Does anyone know if the kids are supposed to pick up their chips at the same time as the adults?  2.25 hours seems like a long time to wait, especially for a 9 year old.
