Yeah -- I've seen that.... I hope it works out! It would be nice to have some more race options! I've got my eye on the half distance race @ Hunter Mountain next summer - looking forward to seeing some more details on course, reg fees, etc....

12 new venues in 12 months, including putting on 12 full distance races seems like a big organizational challenge.

Last time I checked the website, only first race had maps up. Full distance race had 4 out and backs with lots of turns and bike mileage was only 96 miles. Cut off times for IM distance race are shorter than WTC but shorter distance may make that a mute point.

Few years ago a new series was announced....distance was I believe 101 (between HIM or IM), a couple races were held but there were lots of issues including getting permits for roads and final few including series championship were canceled.

Having more options for well run races would be big positive. I hope they put together top quality races.

If they can pull it off I will be looking to sign up for one of these. Hope they do a great job.

Looks like they have maps up for the first 4 races now. Bike courses all have different lengths (only one of the "full" events is 112 miles, the rest are shorter) and many of the half & full distance bike courses use multiple out and backs or multiple loops (four out & backs on one, and five loops on another - ugh...). I hope they can put together some more interesting course offerings for some of the other venues. At this point, I'm not sure I would pay the price they're asking for a long course race with that kind of set-up....

Like the idea or having options closer to home.  The Naples FL race would be great.  Prices not much less than WTC and the Sprint and Olympic are expensive for this area, especially the Olympic.

Registration is open and it looks like $600 for a full IM. I'm interested to see how it plays out. IMO $600 is a lot of money for something that doesn't have a proven track record. WTC fees are higher but with them you know what you are getting. Like them or not, they usually put on a great show, have great fan support, and are usually well organized. I'd be hesitant to throw down $600 for a first time event.

interesting..hmm.....there seems to be a lot of questions to be answered but more choices is never a bad thing.....even though the IM brand may always be the "godfather" of tris , i think like most things in business a little competition is good for all of us AG'ers.....I am glad 2 other full IM distances will be near me if I cant get into a IM brand race next year.

Very curious on how it will play out.
