jimmy3993 - 2011-07-25 7:00 PM Thought that I would poke my nose in since we all seem to be neighbors.I am going to do the sprint at pearl brewery this weekend. Then the gatorbait then avia in austin then longhorn 70.3. Then a nap.

Howdy Jimmy!  The Pearl sprint looks interesting but a bit too short for me (and in a pool i think?).  Gatorbait should be fun though.  Sprints can be a real good time.  I remember in the middle of the bike yesterday that I wished i signed up for the sprint LOL!

TXwildcat - 2011-07-25 5:33 PM This race was tough.  I never have walked during the run part of a tri, but I did Sunday.  Was the course that tough?  I completed Marble Falls Tri the Sunday before.

Yes, it is very tough.  Only one person came in under 2:30 overall and only five managed 20 mph on the bike.  That is very slow.

I was keeping up around 20 mph until the turn at Waring, and those last hills brought me down to 18.4.  the one at the very end seems to go on forever!

Acasiano - 2011-07-25 9:39 PM It was super tough. Especially the 5 miles, uphill, on the cracked asphalt, into the wind (or did I just imagine that because I was suffering?). That part was unfortunately not my idea of a good time, the rest was fun though :-) I wish I could do more events, but budget constraints make me pick and choose, I'm thinking the avia in austin is up next for me. When is the longhorn 70.3? I would love to spectate. Thats my goal next year.

If the Longhorn 70.3 and the Austin 70.3 the same thing?  If so, its Oct 23.

I am doing AVIA.  Olympic should be a breeze after the Small Texan.  I am also planning to do an F3 in Lake Travis, same guy manages the Captextri,  either August 14 or Sept 14  You Swim, Bike, Run, then repeat the Swim, Bike, Run 3 times.   Should be a blast.
