I will be in Vancouver for 10 days for work starting on the 26th, and was wondering if there were any cheap or reasonably priced place for swimming.   I'm staying downtown by the convention center.  the hotel has a pool but it is only about 17 meters and will probably filled with guests.   I have resigned to using the stationary bikes.  At least I will have easy access to Stanley park for running.

Any tips or suggestions are welcomed.   Thanks in advance.

Kits Beach outdoor saltwater pool, 137 metres, admission seems to be about $5-6

I have never been, but I have seen it suggested here on BT . The Vancouver folks will have more info, I am sure.

Kits Pool is great.. was just there last night (Saturday)... Went about 6pm and it wasn't overly busy despite being a beautiful day.. Not sure if that holds true for weekday evenings or not. It is open until about 8:45pm.

I know some LBS's have bicycle rentals.. particularly downtown, however I'm guessing they don't rent high-end road bikes (though you can always ask!!)

Stanley Park isn't a bad ride.. if you opt to bring your own bike. Also.. Seabus to the North Shore.. and riding out Marine Drive to Horseshoe Bay is a great option...

enjoy our city...

Another options is the pool at Second Beach, which is right on the edge of Stanley Park.  It is a 50 m outdoor pool downtown that is probably about a 25 minute walk from where you are staying.

In generally isn't too busy in the evenings as far as lane swimming goes, even on nice days.

There are also open water swims at Kits beach on Mondays and Thursdays.

THanks for all the help.   Any idea on the cost of the second beach pool.  I can't seem to find a price....maybe I'm just blind.

I purchased a 10 pack pass for about $40.

I imagine a single use pass is no more than about $5-$6, and I believe all outdoor pools, including Kits, charge the same amount.

Definitely not the most user friendly location for the Swimming Pool fees...

Was at Kits Pool last weekend.. it's $5.95  (with tax) for an adult..

Heading to Second Beach Pool this evening.. 6ish.. if you'd like to join us..
