There's a bunch of stuff going on in Oxford in two weeks: A 5k, an omnium of bike races, and a sprint tri.  Anyone doing any of this?  I'm going to try the Criterium.

Not me. I'm headed to Eureka Springs Aug 12th for a similar weekend.

Good luck to you.

I am doing the sprint.  It will be my first race.  I'm still struggling mightily with the swim, but I will give it a go.

A guy I work with is doing some of the bike races.

I'm coming down from Illinois (have family reunion in Oxford).  Going to give the omnium a try.  Will be my first road race and first crit (little nervous about the crit )  Going to leave the 5k and tri to my brother and father.

It's this coming weekend.  I'll definitely do a race report for the Crit that I do.

It is going to be HOT.

I've lived in Mississippi my entire life and I've never seen anything like this.  It was 95 degrees when I went to bed last night.

With that said, there could be a little relief on the way - the high is only predicted to be 96 in Oxford on Saturday - much better than the 104 or what ever it was yesterday.

It was 103 when I did track workouts yesterday and 100 today for my bike ride.  It's crazy atm. Fortunately the crit is only 30 mins.  I can suffer through a lot for 30 mins.

Maybe we'll catch a break.  Oxford got a good bit of rain last night and cooled off quite a bit.

I'm just south of Memphis and didn't get the rain, but it was actually pleasant around 7 last night.  I think it was still upper 80s, but that's pleasant to me after the last few days.

All that may serve to just make it more humid, but there's a chance that it will be a little cooler.
