Comments:

Very hot course with no shade. I couldn't kick it into gear and get going. Gave it everything but couldn't work though the wall. I lost a lot of time here! Would like to work on running before my next event.
What would you do differently?:

Eat a shot block on second loop of bike.

None. Had to sit in the shade to cool down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat.

Event comments:

Need more drink stations on the hot days. Loved the pools of ice at the end of the race. Delay of race due to car breakdown on the course and antifreeze spill needing to be cleaned up.

Had a hard time getting open space to swim on the first part of the course. Once we turned the corner, the water opened up and I got my rhythm back. Did much better sighting today. No problems there. No problem with the ocean swim either.

Course: Head winds heading up both sides of the bike. Coming down the roads the wind was on my back and I was able to make up a lot of time. Bike felt great. Course was flat and 2 loops of a U shape. The roads were in great condition.
