I'm planning on doing the sprint, just haven't forked over the $ yet.  Hey, how hilly (or not) do you guys think the bike course will be.

There are some rolling hills, but nothing serious on the bike and the run. If it is as hot and humid as it can be, the hills will seem a lot bigger.

Thinking about it. I am racing the weekend before, so I figured I'd wait to see how I feel.

I've never been on the base there. I heard the roads were rough... ?

I'd say most of the roads are fine, but there are a few stretches that are a little rough. It's all relative depending on what you are used to, but they are just fine for bike riding.

Picked up my packet this afternoon. Nice swag !  The number belt was unexpected and nice, got one already, but can't have too many.

The weather is looking pretty good, getting excited...  How about you guys ?

I beat myself up pretty bad last weekend and decided not to race Sunday. There's an oly here in 2 weeks that I will do instead.  Sounds like some really nice schwag though!  Good luck to all racing.

Yeah, looks like we dodged the bullet with Irene. I picked up my race packet today as well and was pleasantly surprised to see a race belt in the bag. The shirt looks nice as well.

Great Race Rob !!

It definitely lived up to it's billing as HOT.  Actually, I guess it could have been much worse without the breeze...

I had an OK first sprint.

When's your next one ?

Hey Dan, I am assuming I am the Rob your post is to. Yeah, the HOT can be a tough 1st sprint with the heat and humidity. I think I did ok, I am happy with my finish anyway. That may have been my last triathlon. I have now done everything from a sprint to an IM and am ready to stop training. I'll probably still ride occasionally, swim almost never, and go back to mostly just running. I enjoyed triathlon while it lasted, but the IM training really seemed to burn me out.
