I got in at 9:04... Here's to hoping the weather is better 9/10/06 than it was 9/11/05. Did a half-IM on Sat and it was miserable - about 1/3 DNF. Looks like lots of the same at IMWI.

BTW - can't wait for next year! I'm taking a few weeks off, but I'm already itching to get to training; however, I also know that 12 months of training = serious burnout. So, I sit!

Good luck to all the other 2006 IMWI'rs.

I'm in for IMWI 2006...Round 3!!!!

I know I'm an IronMan by toeing the line, but I really need Mike Reilly to say it

Steve - We'll have to do some riding next year! You should come up and do Hellbrick w/ my triathlon group...114 miles including parts of IMWI and Horrible Hilly Hundreds courses, then a 10k run loop and you determine the number. Some do 10, some 20, some 30. I'm adding a pre-hellbrick swim to the event this year. Thanks for the VM...I drop you a call soon!

Racine...bring your motion sickness pills. Lake MI sucks, the bike course is full of potholes, and the run is boring. I've never done it, don't plan to do it, and have heard nothing good about it.

Pig Man...Bring your sunblock and salt tablets. The run is a straight out and back on a black asphalt country road. Zero, zip, nada shade...

Their is a race in Sherwood WI that is a 1/2 IM distance that I've heard good things about...

Here's what's funny...

I spoke w/ I friend of mine who participates in an outing at a camp for cancer patients. She's done it for 15 years, and it always that weekend, and its always hot.

Why it's funny? The big wigs at IMNA said they were originally looking at the week after (this weekend), but thought it would be too cold....BRILLIANT!!!!!

For those not from the area, As of Tuesday the temperature has dropped twenty degrees since sunday!

see at the startline...

I would love to come up and ride with you.  I love riding and since next season will be an unstructured racing season I'll be game for anything.

We should do a hill training weekend around Devils Lake.  There are some AWESOME hills there to get a workout on.  Much worse than the IMWI course.

Let's keep in touch.
