Comments:

I suck at the swim part. It is becoming very clear that swimming in a pool is not helping me. I train well, swim fast - but as soon as race day comes I refuse to do the crawl stroke. *sigh*
What would you do differently?:

must swim a lot more, and in open water. need a coach or a tri-pal to help me!
Transition 1
  • 02m 35s
Comments:

I need to remember not to lift weights the week I do a triathlon! My legs were killing me!
What would you do differently?:

Just more training, more hill work.
Bike
  • 57m 51s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 12.89 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

I haven't used the clip in shoes yet, instead I use the cages and wear my running shoes. Think it's about time to upgrade, but man it makes for a quick transition!
Run
  • 35m 28s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 24s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

I have to speed up. I am just happy that a actually run the entire distance as I used to hate running. So, now that it is clear I can do it I just need to improve on it. My goal is to run a 9 minute mile.

Course: a much more challenging course than the last triathlon. Not really a beginner race to begin with. A long steady incline for the first couple of miles with an odd "turnaround" once you hit the 1/2 way point. We were asked to simply turn around, in the middle of the street. Sort of surprising to me. Some serious wind on the way back in, along with some gusts. The course was almost 14 miles, 13.9 actually.
