Subject: Numb toes

So I've been getting numb toes while I'm riding.  I initially thought it was my seat and the way it was affecting blood flow to my legs and all that.  But talking to the LBS they said it's the positions of my cleats.

Is there anyone that can verify/deny this? Are they smoking crack or is this legit?

I don't want to just go messing around with my setup...

I was experiencing the same thing, mainly on longer rides.  Slid the cleats back a touch and voila, no more numb feet.  First though I'd make sure you're not just strapping your shoes too tight.

Yeah I would think something to do with shoes/cleats/pedals moreso than your seat.

I've heard that several times as well.  Strapping on my shoes  a bit looser solved my problem before I had to adjust the cleat position

Yup, that's it...longer rides!  I will try moving the cleats back and see how that works.

I tried to do that yesterday and it didn't fair so well.  When I was pulling up my feet were shifting too much and was still having a little bit of numbness.

I'm going to try and move them back and go out for a spin tomorrow and see how they do.  Just wanted to make sure that my LBS wasn't smoking something.

Hopefully moving them will solve your issue - good luck!

This might sound silly, but make sure you're socks aren't too tight.  I tried some socks that were looser fitting in the toes and it helped a bunch.

Cleat position may be issue, but also could be bike fit or shoe fit.
