Hi all, I am brand new to triathlon training and I am looking for advice for a guide book or two that can teach me all the ins and outs of triathlon training and competing. My experience is a handful of 10k runs with 7:57 being my best pace. I will be competing in my first sprint tri in two weeks with minimum training and my goal for this time next year is a 1/2 ironman. I am doing the tri in two weeks because it is small and local and a good way to get my feet wet. Any advice is appreciated.
IMO the two best books for a triathlete who wants to understand their training are by Dr. Phil Skiba and both available through his website, http://www.physfarm.com.
While you will likely have many suggestions for other books, these books are in a league of their own and are well research and written at a very understandable level.
