Natchitoches Meat Pie Triathon

I will be there... I'm nursing a knee injury from the bike so I will be trying hard with on the swim and run but just cruising on the bike..... My last tri of the season then I turn into a runner.

Hopefully it will be a good turn out

I went and did a recon of the course today. I made some notes on the course map that they provided and put it in a powerpoint presentation. If anyone cant check out the course before they start, let me know and I can either email it to you or give you a description.

Yesterday I stumbled across a participant list (I think it was on the Layfiette fitness website) and I think I'm fixing to get schooled. Looks like the women in my AG (45-49) are showing up to vie for the state championship. Ah well, that's life.

I am also nursing an ankle injury so I may have to turn it into my own personal aquabike. As long as I get to eat a meat pie in Natchitoches, I'll be happy.

Cancelled? Postponed? Still on? Anyone heard?

It's been postponed as of today. They are hoping for sometime in OCT.

Maybe then it won't be 200 degrees outside?

Hmmmm. Maybe I should start swimming again.

It has been rescheduled for Oct 30th. Does anybody have any idea what the water temps will be like? I don't have a wet suit (hello, this is Louisiana), and that has me a little worried.

Well, crap. I just emailed the RDs to let them know that I can't do the race (in case they have a waiting list). I'm having some minor surgery on the 20th and I know I won't be ready to go on the 30th. I hate to think that my lousy Stonebridge Ranch tri was my last one of the season, but I guess that will motivate me to keep at it in the off season.

I've offered my services as a volunteer so I hope to see some of you there. BTW, anybody know what the water temp is?

I have it on good authority it won't be wet suit legal..... ( a local Triathlete from Red River Tri)

I would be surprised to find the water that cold...however, it may be chilly that morning so prepare to be cold until you start on the bike...

Went to packet p/u today and enjoyed exploring 'Nak-A-dish.' Cute place. I'd be there tomorrow as a volunteer, but I never heard anything back from the RD. I'll be sleeping in, but I wish I could be there with you; looks like a fun race (and the packet is pretty darn great).
