Meat Pie Tri

MMM Meat pie!!


this is a very Aussie concept, maybe it will take off here, but with actual meat pies. Maybe you have to down one in transiation before continuing. I can see the vomit on the run course now!!

I remeber when I studying in NZ there was a hill race where every so many k you had to stop and down a beer and a cold meat pie then keep going...I think you might be on to something...

OT here, but what the hell is a Meat Pie anyway?

I posted this in the Who's Racing thread, but I'll be there on the 25th. Last tri of the season and definitely not my 'A' race. In fact, if it is raining, I probably won't show up.

A Natchitoches meat pie is similar to an empanada, if you are familiar with those. Basically it is a ground meat, onion, spices filling surrounded by dough (pie dough?) and deep fried. Don't hold me to the exact description because I've never made one, but I've eaten them, and that is my best guess.

They have cold pie warm beer races here out in Kal .  you gotta down a cold pie and warm beer then run to the next table and do the same etc.  I've seen it done grossest thing ever.

I just have a vision in my head of the Meat Pie Tri with the Grab a granny's voice over guy doing the commentry.  (Granny's are a brand of meat pie, grab a granny is the advert for them)

Ps prolly should explain Kal is Kalgoorlie and it gets damn hot out there so a warm beer on a 40C day would be like torture.
