Zip 404s are great.  I bought a used pair for $800.  Check out ebay or classifieds of the various triathlon forums.  I got mine from a guy on trinewbies who was selling a bunch of good stuff for cheap.

A question along these lines. If you have the solid wheels, don't they seem to make just a lot of noise? I had a guy ride by me with a zipp solid back wheel and it was really loud on the road.

Yep...disc wheels roar down the road.  Sounds cool as you hear them approach and pass you but I'm not sure how I'd feel about it if I had to ride on one for 3 hours.

Yeah- they are loud.  In my last tri I could always hear the guys on their fancy tri bikes getting ready to pass me.  BTW- I just ordered some new race wheels today during my lunch!!!  It's very exciting.  They're not Zipp Wheels, but I still love them and they are going to be awesome!

Umm...those aren't it- lol.  Let me see...I had help choosing and don't remember what I got.  I think they are American Classic Carbon 38's.   The tires are Tufo S-3 Lite.  I choose these because they are the shizznit!!!

I found the american classic website and you're right, those are the shizznit (assuming that means cool).

Did you buy them from a website somewhere. AM Classic only listed dealers and minimal availability way up here in Wisconsin.

I actually went to my bikeshop.  The one guy working them has the same ones and he has connections.  He had to order them for me- they'll be in next week!

I've been using the Neuvation M28 Aero's. They just came out with some newer, lighter aero's. I have a pair of Michelin Pro Race tires but I ve been using the Specialized Mondo Race and they've been awesome.
