Subject: Boston marathon registration begins tomorrow!
Anyone registering this week? Or anyone like me, hoping the fasties don't take all the spots? I know that's opening a can of worms, but I am really hoping to run it next year with my mom who also qualified. It will be her second time there, the first being in 1982! I know, i know, If I don't get in I'll just have to run faster next time

I ran my first marathon today, and I was really hoping for at least a five min cushion, but I crashed and burned pretty bad in the last third of the race (3:09 total), so I can't try getting in until next week. Somehow I feel that time won't cut it. I guess I've got time to work on getting a better second marathon under my belt for Boston 2013.

I too have to wait until next Monday but I am hoping to get in then. If not I am running the Marine Corps Marathon the end of October and hope knock off that 1 minute and 34 seconds I need to get in with the 5 minute faster crowd.

Even if it wasn't what you hoped for, congrats on an awesome first marathon!I'm really curious about how fast it will sell out, especially since next year they're tightening the qualifying times. If it's still available next week, then a 3:35 is all I'd need for 2013. If not, well I need to cut 8 minutes, so not so easy.

I doubt I'm getting registered, was only a few minutes under BQ. A little frustrating to finally make the time only to have the rules change, but I suppose I can always train harder and run faster

I was wondering how you did today. I ran the Lehigh Valley marathon too and it was also my first. Great time for you! I ran a 3:47 which I was plenty pleased with. That hill at mile 24 was a killer wasn't it?!

Another hopeful here.  I was about 6 minutes under my BQ time so I think that means I can register on Friday.
