Veteran  403  Maryland |  Subject: Giant Acorn Inter/Sprint power plant offHello All, I just checked the website. The power plant that usually warms the water temps is actually off secondary to the earthquake. So they expect the water temps to be colder than normal. Please plan accordingly (ie wet suits if needed). Temps will be near 70. |

Didn't do it last year but the two years previous to that---not choppy but they are calling for some wind this weekend so you might get an inch or two of chop!! Two years ago when they set out the course for the sprint they cut it a bit close to the land and some folks were just walking the middle of the swim!! |

Expert 1706 NoVA | Subject: RE: Giant Acorn Inter/Sprint power plant off Looks like the swim waves are posted and more importantly---the BIKE COURSE is "changed".....well it's the same course but "backwards"---instead of right out of the marina it's a LEFT---so instead of crossing the water at the beginning of the bike you cross it just before the end of the bike.... |
