My first 70.3 is this Sunday at Augusta. Thanks to life, I've done very little training over the last 6 weeks. Before that, I was following the Matt Fitzgerald plan (BT logs are sporadic). I started tri-training back in December of last year.

Because of my lack of recent training, my goal (at this point) is to finish. Any tips? The plan I've got in my head is to just keep it nice and steady, but if it were really that easy...

You will finish, don't be anxious.  You will have a current assisted swim, a bike course that is not grueling at all, and a flat run with lots of support.  As a last resort, walk the run if you have to.  A lot of people have to do this.  I did more walking than running at Louisville, that's for sure!

Good Luck and Have Fun!

The plan to go easy is nice and simple.  It's as easy to do as you make it.

Bring enough tubes, CO2 (just in case), gu/shotblocks, and drink plenty of water and you'll be fine. I did my first HIM past weekend and started tri's and learned how to swim this summer. Not to mention I took the entire month of August off (except for biking) due to other obligations. My plan was to finish the HIM, which I did. But when I sign up for my next HIM my goal is to improve my time.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for asking!I did finish. Apparently the course was closed while I was still running because of a tornado :PIt was fun, but very, very challenging. This Florida girl was ill prepared for a hilly bike course. Fried legs left me walking much of the run. SWIM BIKE RUN OVERALL 49:39 3:50:04 2:54:07 7:47:14

Wow, really?
That happened at Kansas 70.3 in 2008 (well, severe weather) and they pulled runners as they passed a certain point and did not let you continue. It was my first HIM and I was less than 2 miles from finishing when they made me stop Cry

Glad you got to finish! Congrats!

A spectator told me they were going to pull our chips, and I started plowing ahead. I was about 1 mile out. I made it to the finish but no one was there except the race photographer and some volunteers taking down the fences. The clock and chute were still up and working, though. I crossed the mat. I emailed them, and they manually input my final run split. I was so terrified they were going to stop me. I would have been crushed.
