Subject: Oktoberfest in Fulshear or Firethorn in Katy??

Anyone have opinions on these two tri's? Oktoberfest is a new one in Fulshear at Cross Creek. Firethorn has been around. Deciding on which one to do. Thanks for any help.

I did Firethorne last year.  I did not wear a wetsuit, but some did.  It was fine without one.

do both. i'm doing the Lonestar Sprint in Galveston 10/23 and Firethorne 10/30. i figured its the end of the season so why not?

Did Firethorne last year.  Swim- water was not very clear, they should have put down straw, (only 500 meters)  Bike ride was ok.  High traffic.  Run was good.  I am not doing this tri again.

I live in Austin and just did the Fairfield tri in Cypress on the 9th, so I can't really justify doing both.  I signed up for Oktoberfest today - should be fun!
