Update those iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. iOS 5 and iCloud are now live!

(Not to mention 10.7.2 to support iCloud).

Just plugged it back in and it said the restore got interrupted, would you like to continue restoring or delete the backup. Clicked continue and now it's restoring.

I got up early and tried to do it before I went to work, but it wasn't live yet. Will get to it when I get home. I'm pretty psyched about it, because we're a multiple-device family.

The computer I had my phone synced to decided it was done with this cruel world and exited a few days ago. Now I am wading through the back alley ways to get everything off my phone and into a new iTunes so I can update without losing everything.

Damn you Apple!

I had the exact same thing happen and waited around before starting the morning workout and now I can't update because at work.

so to those that have it working, is it worth the upgrade?

and did anyone have theirs previously jailbroken and upgrade?

It's working and I like the little updates. Notification centre and the non obtrusive notifications are really nice

Be careful updating right now and make sure you have a good backup before you update. My wife's phone is stuck in recovery mode because update keeps failing. The Apple authentication server for updates is super overloaded and causing updates to fail. In time it will be fixed and everything, but right now her phone is down (and she's not the only one.)

Backing up my phone now, hoping I don't have any issues with the update. Took several tries just to get the download to work. Servers must be getting hammered.

iHope it works!

edit: So how many of you are going to run out and upgrade your iPhone 4 to the 4S just to get Siri?

I don't know if what I am in is considered recovery mode... My phone just keeps restarting, and doesn't ge recognized by my computer... Not a happy camper right now.

Oh man are the servers getting slammed.

I don't have Lion yet and I decided to start the update process today. Spent some time  deleting a couple gigs of junk today and when I launched updater again it alone took forever.  The Snow Leopard update is going to take between another 15 minutes to 10 HOURS apparently....

I ordered new phones so I figured I might as well update everything else and take advantage of the new features.

If anyone is getting the 3014 error or anything in the 3000's really it's most likely a host error that's been around for a while from previous itunes versions.

Follow this and you should be golden:

Browse to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\

Open hosts by right clicking the file and selecting to open with Notepad

Look for an entry that looks like 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com or 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Delete this line and save the file

Try your restore again

If you're on a mac same steps except you go to the folder /private/etc/
