I'm going to register for the Tufts 10K. Anyone else not registered yet and would like to register as a "you go girl" registration? I think we get free socks, if we do! The deadline for it is sept 25. Let me know and we'll register.

Hey Nikki,
I run the Tufts 10K every year and was going to send in a group app in the 'you go girl' spirit at the end of this week. I thought it was open till Oct. And I do have a few gals with entry forms ready to go, so should we try to combine?
Get in touch soon...cheers, -Sunny

Hey Sunny,.... Errrr, i finally gave up trying to find someone and I thought the deadline for the you-go-girl was sept 25, so I went ahead and registered. Is it possible to hook me together after doing so? Even if so, I'd love to 'hook-up'. I will place myself in the 10+mile/min group. My friend that I went with last year is up in the 8min/mile. I ended up meetinga woman along the way that was my pace and it was great to have the company. If you know anyone my pace, that would be cool as well. I discovered using mp3 payer while running, so I'll have that to lean on!!

Darn, but you're right...the group reg closed so there's no girl club/discount for us at this time.

As for running times, I'd love a PR at a sub-8:30 min/mile pace. The crowds of previous years suggest that I'll need to seed myself in the sub-8:00 group to achieve this, so maybe we can meet up after the race on The Commons?? You'd be the first BT'er I'd meet and hopefully not the last!

Cheers, -Sunny

You are smart to seed yourself in the 7min/mile group. My friend Marsha will do the same. Last year she had to get around alot of people that did not seed themselves fairly.

We can definitely meet up after the race. We can figure out a good spot and/or exchange cell #s. PM me your email address and i'll put you on our MA BT'ers mailing list. Max and Laura put together a great "fall foliage" bike ride for October. You will meet tons of MA BT'ers!

I'm planning on doing the 10K as well. But I'll be above the 10 m/m group. This will be my first every running race.

So you've done it before..how'd you like it. How does timing work...obvious if you are a slow runner it takes awhile to get to the start.

Did you go with people? What do you do with your stuff? Nikki are you driving or taking the train?

Hey guys! I'm running as well. Targeting between 10:30 and 11:00 miles. I'm actually running with my massage therapist, of all people, but we should defintely find a place to meet up.

Hey everyone,
I've run the race many times, and it's a goodie. Lovely course, huge crowd, and nice after-party of sorts on The Commons. I usually run with my running buddy, Rosanna, and hang out with her afterwards. I'm 6'0 with a long blond ponytail; she's 5'2" with cropped dark hair, so we make quite the pair!

I'd be very happy to meet other BT'ers at the Lost and Found table at noon, 12:30, and 1:00, or 1:30pm depending on people's finishing times. I just can't think of another landmark that would be easy enough for all of us to find...except maybe the banana table?! LOL

Someone asked about what to do with bags while running...
""Baggage Claim: For your convenience, a Baggage Claim area will be set-up on the Boston Common from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on race day. Race management will not be held responsible for lost or stolen articles. All baggage must be claimed by 2 p.m. on race day. ""

Amanda and Kathy....we could possibly run together as we seem to be the same race pace!!!   I do well when someone is not letting me go to a walk. They have water stops every mile and i could walk through those and drink (i can't seem to master the run and drink thing).

Kathy, in answer to your question, you get a racing chip that you tie onto your sneaker laces and it doesn't beep you out until you cross the starting line, so even though you start way back everything works out. They line us up in waves up beacon street.

So, in light of trying to possibly run together, hmm..how shall we hook-up? Sunny, any ideas for us folks at the back. We can try using the same hook-up spot for before and after. I can tell Marsha, who i go to the race with to meet you (ahead of me), and the rest of us will trickle in.

hey Isis..seems like a 6 miler could be right inline with week of 1/2, no? Plus the excitement, great vibes, and us BT women uniting will be great!! Are you doing the BAA 1/2? I'm kicking around the (very optimistic idea) of making it a goal for next year.

Last year was my first year doing the Tufts 10K and it was my longest distance. Its a great run originating from and ending at Boston Common. The run goes along the Charles river and there are tons and tons of cheering spectators. Last year I think there was something like 8000 women running!

After a long debate, I had to decide not to do the race. My kids are off of school that day and my hubby will be out of town. It doesn't seem fair to be gone for some 6 hours to do a race when there are plenty nearby almost every weekend.

Have fun and maybe I can be someones you go girl next year!

Sunny had the right idea everyone. We're going to meet up at the lost and found..checking there about every 30 minutes until 2pm. My friend Marsha will be back in before me, she is about 5'4" and dark hair about shoulder length. Sunny is 6ft with blonde hair. I'll be in the last wave leaving and expect to be somewhere around 65 minutes (hopefully). Looking forward to meeing those of you i haven't yet!! Amanda and I met at Jorge's race (she's a GREAT swimmer!!). Kathy, we will miss you, but please please...lets run locally. I need better consistency!

Hey Ladies,
I hope that you all had a great run, and I'm sorry we didn't connect this time. I left voicemails for Nikki with the change of plans, so I hope that she got them...?

I had planned the post-race stuff very casually and had intended to pass by the lost and found. My running partner, Rosanna, had other ideas...a pizza lunch and then manicure/pedicure!?! At least my feet loved the spa-treatment, especially since they were cold from the rain.

Hope you all stayed fast and dry!
See you at the next race?
Cheers, -Sunny
