Subject: Body Fat & Weight Loss
Hi Folks,
I've lost 52 lbs since last November through running and weightlifting. Besides cosmetic surgery or hundreds of crunches any suggestion to rid my abs of excess skin. Iwas 216 and am now down to 163.
Also any thoughts on water retention after this amount of weight loss especially under arms, groin, and ankles. A potassium sparing diuretic is somewhat helpful, but it seems that since the wt. loss I keep retaining fluids even though I am drenched when I run. The article on ammonia and high protien diet was excellent.

You did what I have started to do a couple of weeks ago. Great Job!! I am 41 and have worked out steady for many years. I weigh 220 at this writing and want to get as low as possible through running/walking (till I can run continuously w/o hurting my shins) bicycling and swimming. I love the burn after a good cardio workout. I am brand new at this web site. Its a great site.

Dash,
Take it really slow. Remember to stretch and listen to your body. I had to stop completely for a month because I was pushing myself too much and injured my shoulder.
You will get there. I'm 50 and have made the work out a #1 priority even if it means getting to the gym at 9PM for a run.
