Pro 4189 Pittsburgh, my heart is in Glasgow | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done Most of mine involve my sorority sisters and the fact that we live in a (all too sleepy) town. Great ideas include: Eatin an atomic hotwing (and paying the consequences later), using trashbags as raincoats, using non-waterproof paint for homecoming floats...oh and "yes, that will hold you" is a LIE. |

Master 1938 La Crosse | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done ChipmunkHeart - 2005-10-17 10:46 AM The dumbest things I've ever done almost always come right after the phrase "Ok, well....one more shot." phoenixazul - 2005-10-17 8:53 PM My phrase-which-immediately-precedes-stupidity is, "Sure, why the hell not?" It's not as mind numbingly obvious as Jeff Foxworthy's observation that "you might be a redneck if any one of your family has died immediately after saying the words 'Hey y'all, watch this!'" but it is a sure indicator that something stupid this way comes. Sadly, I cannot tell you what my stupidest thing is. I have sworn that I shall take the secret to my grave. Suffice it to say that I could never be nominated for a position on the Supreme Court, or any position which would involve investigative reporters looking at my past. |

Pro 4481 Reston | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done The most recent dumbest thing I've ever done... telling a co-worker "you sure its a good idea to light that candle on your desk, clutz? You're bound to set something on fire." and then no more than 10 minutes later, walking out of my office, over to said co-workers desk, reaching across it for some papers, and promptly lighting my tie on fire. |

Pro 4189 Pittsburgh, my heart is in Glasgow | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done I suppose the condom story will fall into this one. OK, so condoms can hold about 3 gallons of water. On a very boring saturday night, my friends and I got to talking about condoms. I brought up this fact. So of course, I had to prove it. After filling one up in the dorm sink, we of course had to dispose of it. But how? Of course, the only logical way, throw it out a 3rd floor window. First one was great, second one was bigger and great, the third one was our undoing. It was HUGE. I went to chuck it out the window, and it only made it halfway out before exploding all over me/the floor/the outlet/cd player/clothes. Not only that, but it rolled down the side of the building and got water in the room below us...the RA. Oh man. It was really worth it though. |

Queen BTich 12411 , | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done Oh....another one comes to me now. So my ex and I were engaged. He had started a new job in the early summer with a small company, less than 100 employees. Close tight-knit office, awesome Christmas dinner/party at a really nice restaurant in Houston. Me. College Student. Just finished finals. Unlimited drinks. I ended up being the hit of the party, the CFO invited certain people to his very nice house (this house was so kick a**) for an after party. I really liked the CEO, he was a very nice (much older) man, a grandfather in fact. Very sweet guy. Ended up hugging him, multiple times...ok, hanging all over him.... telling him what a sweet man he was and that Kyle was such a hard worker that he needed a raise.... We left shortly thereafter and had to pull over on the side of the road 3 times before we got home so I could throw up. The boss man loved me after that though. Always asked Kyle about me. |

Giver 18427 | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done OK...here's another one: Also in college, in a classroom in a mandated-for-athletes study hall. Bored, so we invent this game where we run as fast as we can around the room. On top of the desks. We take turns, seeing who can go the fastest. It's fun. On probably my third turn, I miss a desk and slam into the edge of it with my knee, catching the patellar tendon between my patella and the head of my tibia. Hurts like bloody hell, and within 30 minutes I have a softball-sized hematoma on my knee. I can barely walk, and the next day I have to explain it to my swim coach. I think I told him a story about falling while walking up a flight of stairs |

Expert 1135 Delano, MN | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done In high school we were playing football in a seldom used hallway. I went out for a pass and the defender clearly interfered with me as I was slammed up against a locker laying a nice gash in the back of my head. We got the bleeding to stop before class but while in class I did something that broke it open unknowingly. The girl sitting behind me screams in terror as she sees the blood running down the back of my head (I did have hair then) and onto my white shirt. I ended up having to go the school nurse and try and explain how I got this gash in the back of my head. Not fun. |

When i first started reading this, i thought it would relate to my dumb experience... let's just say, i didn't have one... looked for something else to use... grabbed saran wrap... OUCH!!!! another story involved alcohol... anyway, i was stationed in greece and we used to go to the islands (Zakinthos, Corfu, Mykinos, Naxos, Paros) for much needed R&R, this happened to be zakinthos... well being a broke enlisted person, i used to take(steal) drinks off of the tables of people who were dancing and drink them... it didn't matter what it was as long as it was alcohol... well i guess someone had slipped a rufie in someone's drink ( this was only my second drink) and i just happened to steal it to drink for myself... next thing you know i am stumbling all over the bar and make my way outside... i find some beach loungers and fall asleep in one of them... 4 hours later, i wake up to some chick who is riding my back like she was some kind of cowboy (god only knows what else was done to me)... i came to my senses, although still groggy and checked for blood coming out of my bung hole (the back riding thing scared me)... thank god, it was clean... i made my way back to my room and passed out for like 12 more hours and woke with a splitting headache... i never stole another drink that summer... Veteran 305 Wichita Falls | Subject: RE: The dumbest thing I've ever done yeah it's hard to beat the greek islands... i have done the whole spring break (daytona, panama city beach, south padre), mardi gras, and border towns(TJ, nogales and juarez) thing and have never experienced anything like the greek isles... my party days are over but i was sort of thinking of heading to ibiza... it wouldn't be the same with wife and kids in tow though... the wife and i are planning on doing a greek tour (minus the excessive partying) or maybe sardinia next summer for our holiday... we are still undecided though Edited by macfights 2005-10-18 11:12 AM |
