Member 18 |  Subject: New guy's first postI decided last week that I want to complete a sprint triathlon in April. I can run, more tortoise than hare. I will be training for the bike on a mountain bike until I can get a road bike. My swim is definitely my weak point. I am essentially starting from scratch. Thankfully there is a very nice lady that runs the swimming pool here that is coaching me. Today was my first day and I felt like a cat in water. I know that it will come in time. Search Forums for info on swimming, but select 'all posts' to get the most info. Interesting debate over Total Immersion versus traditional. I struggle with the swim too. Best of luck! I was wondering if I had taken too big of a bite trying to tackle swimming, but reminded myself that I couldn't run 5 miles the first day I ran. I look forward to getting better.
