Silver Comet Half Marathon - 10/29

I am doing it too..want to ride together?

I'm in too.  Gotta figure out just where in the heck the start line is!

Its over by the bike shop where we stopped that day that we all went and rode together....I am not 100% sure either though

I thought I read that the start was at the Mable House Ampitheater?  Is that down the street from the Floyd Road trailhead/bike shop? 

I gotta check the directions again...

From the e-mail the director sent out today:

"First, please note that the race start location has CHANGED.  The race
will start at 7:45am at the MABLE HOUSE ART CENTER & AMPHITHEATRE.  The
Mable House is located exactly ½ mile past the Kroger on Floyd Road
(heading away / South from the Silver Comet Trail) – 5239 Floyd Road,
Mableton GA  30126.

The race starts at the Mable House Art Center - 7:45am sharp.  The
course will head North on Floyd Road 1.5 miles.  Then it turns Left/West on
the Silver Comet Trail at the Silver Comet Depot Trail Head.  You go
out approximately 5.75 miles, turnaround & finish at the Silver Comet
Depot.  Please BE CAREFUL turning onto the trail – It will be crowded in
the beginning & near the middle at the turnaround.  Run on the right
hand side of the trail.  PLEASE BE AWARE THAT RUNNERS WILL BE RETURNING
ON YOUR LEFT !!!  Listen for any announcements being called out along
the course.

Water will be located at the 2-mile mark & every 1.5 miles thereafter. 
PowerAde will be available at the water stop closest to the race
turnaround only.  Please dispose of your cups at/near the water stops.  If
you use gels, please dispose of the packets at the water stops so our
volunteers can make sure we get all trash off the trail.  Please Don’t
Litter the Trail.  

Two Pit Stop Units will be at the Industry Road crossing  - these are
the only ‘Pit Stops’ on the course. – Look for ‘Pink’ signs
near mile 5.5 going out & 9 going back. 
(- Industry is the Road crossing after Sanders crosses going out - &
after Carter crosses coming back)   Pit Stop units will be at the start &
finish line locations.

The Finish Line:
The Finish Line Celebration will be in the lower parking at the Silver
Comet Depot Trail Head.  All pre-registered half marathon participants
will receive a finisher medal & long sleeve race t-shirt.  We will have
Fontis Water, Goldberg’s Bagels, Krispy Kreme Donuts, Apples &
Bananas.   Awards will be given out when we have enough finishers in to fill
the categories.  Plaques are given to the top three male & female
finishers in five-year age categories.  Awards not picked up will not be
mailed.

CCT Buses will take all race finishers, volunteers, & spectators back
to the parking lots at Floyd Middle School & the Mable House Art Center
after the race."

I'll be lining up towards the back of the pack...
