One of the most expensive used to be the Pinarello Montello, which used to cost 15000some years ago.  It has since been greatly reduced in price, however.  The frameset now has a list price of 7200USD, 9329USD with Campagnolo Record components.  The Campagnolo Ghibli rear wheel is 2900USD and the front Pinarello Charisma wheel is about 700USD.  This would bring the Montello up to the 1300USD mark, slightly shy of the Diamas price but it is the most gorgeous tribike around ... n'est ce pas!?!

This year in the TdF, Phonak rode time trial bikes that were $25k... most of which went into R&D, but still!

Almost all of the pro team full on custom bikes are in the average car range (15 - 25k) but are not true "tri" bikes - and you can not usually buy them anyways. They are TT machines for 40 -80 kms. You almost never see a pro TT longer than 80 kms, so they can sacrifice comfort and positioning for flat out speed. You have to remember (or know if you do not) that the top guys will average a tick over 30 mph for the entire TT.

Any pure custom built frame from a small manufacturer is gonna be huge bucks, and then depending on what goodies you put on, it gets higher.
