Behold Italian steel in all its glory!!!

My trusty stead is looking a little worse for ware and i want to tart it up. Can't afford a new one and I would need counselling to get over my loss if I was to flick her aside. So the next best thing is a two wheel makeover from hell.

Suggestions? Pics appreciated for ideas or direction to painters websites.

[voice=classic bike freak] Man, that is a beautiful, classic frame. I like the paint as-is. those blue rims really, really clash though, ack! The aero bars on that bike just look wrong. it needs soe nice silver Cinelli drops and some MA-40's  [/voice]

That said, she's your bike do what you will, but I'll bet that by the time you spend enough to get what you like, you could have bought a new frame. I say this as the guy who dropped a lot of time and money on this makeover of an old MTB

So did I!!! I had to read the title like 6 times till I finally got it. Man I'm repressed.

But as an art major...that's a hideous paint job. Pretty bike, bad paint. I'd say go for something SHINY, and easy to find in the mob of bikes at a race. Bianchi has this sweet slick bronze/orangey color that makes me drool every time I see it (then I have to apologize to Ruby because I always pass the bike shop on my ride). Then again, red is always good.

Check out this bike painters site. He is New Orleans based and I have seen alot of his work first hand. It beautiful. Long way to ship a bike, but maybe some good ideas for you.

Are you going to paint it yourself? I have an old Miyata frame that I'm thinking of putting a new paint job on and then rebuilding it.

I did too!  As for the paint job - what do you call the kind of paint process they put on cars and trucks where the color changes as it goes past you?  I think THAT would be cool on a bike!
