Electra Cruisers...cool or totally dorky?

Elite  2706    Hurst, Texas |  Subject: Electra Cruisers...cool or totally dorky?My LBS just started carrying Electra cruisers. They have a new "Straight 8" as well as a "Rat Rod". In a way, they seem totally cool and like a great "around the neighborhood with the kids" bike. On the other hand, I also think...but are they too dorky? Any thoughts? I am looking for a bike for regular "play riding" that I don't have to clip in and out of when riding for leisure with the family. I was thinking a MTB, but then I saw these Electras and thought it might be a cool bike to have. I'm still not sure. |

I don't know if those two would be my favs, but I do like the retro look cruiser bikes that have been out the last few years. I think they'd be great for casual rides with the family - but if you have active kids who you might want to go trail riding with wouldn't a MTB prevent you from someday maybe needing a THIRD bike? If that's not going to happen then I'd definitely get a cruiser. If you're lucky maybe someday someone will make fun of you on it and then you'll get to see the look on their face when you blow their doors off! |

I've participated in couple chopper nights (bicycles not motorcycles) and I must confess I've developped a taste for "chopper" style bikes. So much that I cannot wait to get one to take for a ride on chopper nights (those gatherings are so much fun! you will see al kind of "rebels" doing amazing things with bikes).
