Hey I'm in. Why not, I've still got my butt pic from the last swim challenge. I knew it would come in handy someday. But Goddess we got to have some name change to something like the Carolina Shaggers or the Palmetto State Hunleys, or the Jasper Wahoos or whatever.

Okay, I'm in too! I guess this will be a little extra motivation to get my swim done.  I didn't read through this whole thread yet, do I need to post my goal for December?

I want to play!!   I think I'm the only person from Colorado to post so far :-(  Anybody want me??  Can I join Texas??  I graduated High School from Round Rock -out side of Austin, and am also a Texas Tech Graduate - so although I'm not living in Texas, I have Texas ties??   Or is their a team from the Moutain west??  Please, petty please???

Workoutbunny, are you sure you don't want to be on the West Coast Cutties? Also, there is a large, albeit hybernating, Colorado group on BT. You could start that group or if you REALLY want to be on Texas, I'll put you in the Texas team. Let me know.

So are cutting off the West Coast Cutties or are we out of it?

Jason

Jason, you are in. SouthWest Cutties or SouthWest/Coast Cutties... whatever you want to call yourselves.

Nobody is excluded. Except maybe a Stooge-loving BTer who I don't want to publicly call out (Chucky Finster).

In your sig, replace the '<' and '>' with '[' and ']'. It should work then.

Hmmm...I'd be up for this. I'm in with the Tampa team. Thanks for the heads-up Renee! So being the newbie that I am, somebody tell me how this works!

I'm in the pool at least twice a week anyway, so this will be a good ramp-up for me. I'm only doing about a half mile a week (two quarter mile swims) right now, but I really wanna be doing more. St. A's will be my first Olympic, so I need the extra training!

Thanks for the motivation!!!

Hmm, I don't know if I can be on a team with Gamecock anything in the name. But then again, Spurrier did help the Dawgs Saturday with a whoopin' on Florida. At this point in the game, UGA needs all the help we can get.

OH...and about the tag in your sig.

Use the following code (no spaces...I added them so you can see the code)

[ url=/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=30254&start=1]December Swim Challenge[/ url ]

That should work. It worked in mine.

YAY! Thanks for all the help.

Regarding your swim goal - go through your December calendar and count your planned swim days, multiply times the yards/meters you'll swim that day and there's your goal for the month. Keep in mind - parties that precede swim days (temptation to slack off the next day/hangover/etc), days you might be travelling, make sure your pool is open if the day is near a holiday, etc. You will be expected to meet your goal 100% if you're on Florida Force, no excuses!

Wicked avatar, btw!

Just to get the smack started - I don't know about the rest of you but who doesn't meet thier training goals 100%? This should be a walk in the park. ( watch now I'll be the first to get sick and will have to figure out how to swim with snot pouring out of my nose!)

OK no problem. I'm planning on at least two swim days per week as a goal. By the end of the month I wanna be swimming a half mile at a time. So this is an honor system thing. I hope everyone can be honest about it!! I actually enjoy my pool time so I know I'll be all about it!

BTW check your PM's I made an error in that code I sent you. Gotta take out the quote marks.

OH and thanks for the compliment! That was after a 5K last month. I was smiling, but my body was screaming. I pulled (and almost tore) the tendon at my ankle during that race (OUCH!!!) but it was worth it, I took second in my age group.
