I am off to the pool soon.  It does not open until 5:15 and I am ready to go.  I have my breakfast AND lunch packed to take to school.  Two of my classes are not meeting today so I'll have plenty of time later to play around here    or I suppose I could be doing school work.......

WOW!! The site is looking really nice!!! I need to check in a bit more often! Going to work out today if it kills me! And it just might do that! I have not been doing anything and feeling quite guilty for it! I am not sure if I am going to be doing any races this year or not now. I have to spend a couple months at POST academy for my job and that is going to cut into training big time. So I think that I am just going to backpack a lot this summer and train when I can. Anyway, just checking in to see how you are all doing!

I'm up, I'm up, I'm up....a bird woke me this AM singing away. :-O

Going to have breakfast (cereal with strawberries) then it's off to the gym.

Pilates class today. Not much else. Off to the salon this afternoon. Race on Sunday.

The waking up early and working out thing will kill me, I think. Ha.

I stayed up last night late with my best friend and now have to go to work. Don't know if I'll squeeze in a workout--hopefully at least walking at lunch. Tonight, I have a class and will probably see Grandma again afterwards if nothing happens sooner. The days are numbered.

Had a rest day yesterday and after the wetsuit silliness it's back to the health club today. The owner is trying to make a deal with the manager of the pool in the next town to let us use the pool at a reduced rate. As compensation he will allow pool members a reduced rate at the health club. I'm crossing my fingers. I may not have to battle the fish and frogs at the local pond, in 50 degree water!

Swam last night. Reached my uninterrupted 1/2 mile goal, and got in another 600 yards in 200 and 100 yard intervals. Feeling a little tired this AM, but pretty good.

Tonight its back to the pool if the weather is bad. Otherwise a 5 mile run.

Darnit, I just can't get to bed on time. 10:30 bed time again last night. I like to sleep and doing all this on less than 7 hrs each night stinks.

I was in a pretty bad blue funk yesterday, but managed to take the dog for a walk around the neighborhood. I should have been biking. I tried to run a bit but my damn knees hurt. I think I'm going to check my insurance coverage for sports physicians and go see one.

Today I'm going to do weights and 3-4 miles if it kills me. I've got to drive to Knoxville early Saturday, so I have to get a lot of exercising done today and tomorrow.

well, my trip to the pool netted me 1750 yards, broken into 3 sets.  Not too shabby.  Dorian, you're too funny.  Yes, I sleep, like a baby only better!  That's what training will do for ya.  I am rearing to go after about 6 hours of shut eye.  That's all about to change.  Summer session has me in class until 10PM and I PROMISE I will NOT be here at 4AM.

Today's plan:
biking -broken up into two short rides, because that's all I have time for
yoga
"extra" cardio => step class

The first of the short rides is done, but nothing else.

Today's my rest day, tomarrow is my first 5k. Ihate running so this should be interesting. It will be a run/ walk with my kids in the trailer. It's a military pride run, so they don't care if you walk. Has anyone heard of Bloomsday. That's coming up next weekend.

Had to get my run in before my hubby left for work - left at dawn and ran 3 miles - felt good and could have kept going, but had to return home so he could leave :-( . Oh, well, parents swooping into town this am. Mom is not exactly a fountain of encouragement - I've got to prepare for a whole week of " You're too old to be doing this (I'm a whopping 41), you're going to get hurt, you shouldn't be trying some crazy trahlon race - you're nuts!" Oh, my. Going to have to stay positive and make sure my hubby doesn't tell her off! Great workouts to all!

Phoenix,Sorry about Grandma. I'll pray for her and hope that you and your family will get through this. God bless.Cannoli, when mom starts to speak just hum the Rocky theme in your head. Dealiing with negative Nancies is a lot harder than running a triathlon so everytime your mom starts to talk just think you're running a race. This is what you've trained for. You can do it! You can do it! Win, win, win. It won't do any good to argue so think positive. When she says you're to old - you tell yourself I'm so young. When she says you're outta' shape - you tell yourself you're in the best shape of your life. When she says you're never gonna make it - you hum "Rocky," and tell yourself decided to tri is half the battle. That said - I was too tired to make it to the gym and slept through my alarm and didn't wake up until 6:30 a.m. so I missed spin. I'm jonesing for a workout so I'll do spin class tonight and run and weights. No swimming for the rest of the week (I'm so entirely bummed about that I don't know what to do) so I'll have to run a lot more yeahhhh!Have a good training day all. Ovetta.

I went to my first spinning class this morning at 6am!! It was great - so much better than the regular exercise bike and since it is rainy today, better than going outside for me who has no experience on wet roads...
(also did some upper body weights)

wow, sounds like we share parents.  I am also 41 (spring chickens, don'cha know?) and ALWAYS have to hear my parents say "how can you do that with <insert injured body part here>?  Should you be running (swimming, biking, whatever is on that day's plan)?"  I always say "have you ever tried running without a <knee, ankle, shoulder.....>? Then they just shake their heads, assume I am nuts (I am), and go about their merry way.  To each their own, right?

Good luck with your company.  Remember, we are always here when you need some sanity

Ha-ha! I feel better already!! Fabulous sanity check! I will hum the Rocky theme, as a matter of fact I get teary every time I imagine myself crossing the finish line with my husband cheering me on (although"Christopher" isn't as poetic as "Adrianne"). This is so much more than a test of physical endurance (the tri, not my parent's visit!). There is a great song called "I Will Live" "I will dance, I will sing, I will stand before My King, I will walk, I will run, I WILL DARE TO OVERCOME! I will laugh, I will cry, I will do more than survive - I WILL LIVE!!" Thanks all!!

3 1/2 mile run. Tried to make it a fartlek by alernating my pace between the fire hydrants. It seemed to work well. Though the recovery phases of the run got longer after a while...
