Subject: Looking for the CORE

I am looking for a good resource for what many call the CORE workout.  I have access at the gym and at home to a stability ball.  The reason is that there are a lot of books and websites out about this and I wanted to know what you guys think.

Thanks for the response.

I am sure that you can pick up some DVD's that have core exercises.

I usually learned how to do all my core exercises either in classes at the gym or a pilates video.  If your gym offers Pilates or core strengthening classes at your gym, I would recommend going to a class and learning the proper technique and basics so that you can do them at home on your own.  That would be the cheapest way.  Core strength is important but most overlooked.

I like Core Performance by Mark Verstegen, website: http://www.coreperformance.com

There's a lot more to it than the ab and back exercises presented by most programs.

The best core advice I ever received:

"Abs are made in the gym but revealed in the kitchen"

I found out that the YMCA has some pilates classes.  Thanks for the website:  http://magthree.com/Thoughts/Core_Work.html

Awsome resource!

And yes I agree that this begins in the kitchen.  That has been the heart of all major progresses that I have made.
