Subject: RE: It ain't fancy but it works! Right on!! I did my first seven tris (my first two years ) with a Glacer Bay (Target brand ) Mountain bike I bought for $25. Throw in the Bell speedomenter for $7 and I had a great time. Of course I did start to get quite frustrated watching people only working half as hard as I was (based on sweat rate ) passing me. I finally went out and got a decent road bike before my first OLY tri. On longer rides a good bike makes a huge difference, but if you are doing sprints and are looking to enjoy the expirience you can still do pretty well without breaking the bank.
PS. I must say it is also very, very satisfying to beat someone who paid 1000's of dollars more on equipment than you did. |
