I am looking for some recommendations on goggles that work well with contact lens wearers.  I am seeking goggles that are comfortable and goggles that are leak-proof.  There are so many choices out there and since I am new to the sport I figured this would be a good place to seek recommendations.

The best thing you could do is go try on a couple pairs. Each person's head is made differently. New goggles shouldn't leak, and if they do, you probably need to adjust the piece over your nose or how tight you've got them. If I remember correctly, TYR makes goggles with corrective lenses. Old goggles will probably start to leak after a while, and fog.

I also wear contacts and have used a pair of relatively inexpensive TYR Team Spirit goggles for the past couple of years.  They have a thick foam seal and are very comfortable (for me at least).  A down side is that the strap only lasts about a year before breaking.

The other issue I've had is that the blue tinted models that I wear at the pool are too dark for early morning open water swims.  I solved that by buying a second clear pair for OW swims and races.

You might also consider swimming without the contacts and getting a pair of prescription goggles for about $25.   I always use mine and they work great.  You can get them at swim shops in a variety of off the shelf prescriptions.

Ditto to everyone on trying the various goggles.  Get some that will "suction" gently to your eye socket with out the headstrap in place.  If they'll hold even for a second or two that way, odds are you'll be fine.

I swim in my contacts all of the time.  As far as goggles, I've found that I like the Swedish Goggles the best.  Very inexpensive, and I've had no problems with leakage.  They're pretty comfortable as well, which surprised me hen I first tried them, because there is no "cushion" or seal of any kind.

Good luck!

I ck out e-bay for stuff on a regular basis, and just got 2 pair for like $24 bucks, half price.

it's really something that is specific to the bone structure in your face.  I'd start to experiment with whatever your local Dick's Sports has in the $10 range.  No sense paying more if the cheapies do the trick for you.
