Dan Fogelberg's, Another Auld Lang Syne.  Don't know why.  It's sad as hell, and it always seems to get to me.

Bonnie Raitt and Charles Brown's version of Merry Christmas Baby beats out Springsteen...sorry.

I don't know/care who sings these songs but I like 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' and 'I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.'

That would be Brenda Lee and Bing Crosby.

My faves:

"I Believe In Father Christmas" by Emerson, Lake, & Palmer
"Snoopy's Christmas with the Red Baron" by The Royal Guardsmen
"I Saw Three Ships" by Bruce Cockburn
"Silent Night" both versions by Jewel and Stevie Nicks
"Joy To The World" & "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" by Mannheim Steamroller

Trust max on this one: he was around when both were released.

Blue Christmas - only by Elvis.  This is pure, drippy Elvis at his best and I love it.  The backup singers, everything is perfect about this song as the counterpoint to White Christmas by the Binger, which is my second favorite.  My wife thinks I'm nuts because it's not a happy-type Christmas song, but that's not the point.  It's Elvis!

And honorable mentions to Heat/Freezemeiser, The Grinch song (the original longer version than what's in the tv show), Christmas in Killarney (Bing again), and Baby It's Cold Out There.

Aaron Neville's Soulful Christmas.  His versions of O Holy Night and The Bells of St. Mary's are awe inspiring.

From an instrumental perspective, I favor any of the Mannheim Steamroller or Canadian Brass Christmas CD's.

As far as "Christmas in Hollis", we'll leave that one alone...

Hey, I resemble that remark! OK, well yes to Brenda Lee, but Bing's performance was at LEAST a few years before I hit the scene here!!

Hmmm...a Google check reveals 1942, so I'm safe by 6 years!

Sheesh, when I saw this thread title I thought I'd jump in with Joseph's song thinking that would be out of the box a bit. That song is AWESOME and flys under the radar for some reason!

My favs are Sleigh Ride, done by the Boston Pops and Santa Baby, preferably by Eartha Kitt

And when I'm getting snarky on the holidays, it turns to things like...
Grandma got run over by a reindeer and
Merry *@#$#Y* Christmas from South Park...

Chris Tree - 2005-12-21 7:20 AM Santa Claus is coming to town - the Boss's version!!! Great any time of the year!

I have to second that one!

What?  No votes for the dogs singing barking Jingle Bells?  It's a classic!
