Registration on active.com is open for these two events NOW.

The races have been listed on active for a while now, but with the
message that online registration wasn't available if you clicked the
register button, but this evening it is taking registrations.

I'm in for both.  Who else has signed up?  Checking the website, 350 people have registered with a cap of 500.

I'm signed up as well. This race has now reached its 500 person capacity, so if you signed up, you may want to verify that you are listed on the "who's registered" list.
