I have a path that I ride where squirrels will dart out on occasionally. I am so scared of running them over... I yell really loud and they run off.

So far, I haven't hit one yet!

Thank goodness... there is no way I could pull a dead one from my spokes.

He doesn't look to aero, now if you could get the squirrel to run on the inside of the wheel and give it some nuts every couple of miles, I'll bet you could get a new PR!!

Dude, you're supposed to use playing cards to get that motorcycle sound, not live animals.

P.S. Did that cause you do do an endo?  That looks like a Fred Flintstone bike brake.

Luckily that wasn't me...a friend of mine posted the pics on a local board but i don't know the actual origin.  By the looks of that form I would say that rider was moving a a good clip and probably ejected a fair distance before hitting the ground.  Thank god my cats are smarter than a squirrel...they stay well clear of my rear wheel when I'm riding my trainer.

WOW! Didn't realize one little squirrel could do so much damage. Hope I don't meet a deer.

wow - that's crazy. I once had a dog run into my rear wheel when I was riding. He just darted out from the side. Fortunately, he was too big to get stuck in the spokes, and I somehow managed not to fall.

Now, I just have one more thing to watch out for on the roads (crazy drivers, squirrels, etc.)

Years ago I had a squirrel literally go through the spokes of my front wheel.

I have no idea how it happened, but it ran out into the road into the wheel and came out the other side ....... unscathed!!

How I didn't crash, or how the squirrel did not die and have these pics happen to me, I do not know. Guess I have a lot of help looking after me when I'm out there!

Anybody know how did that happened? I mean, did the little squirrel thought it could jump through it? I don't think a squirrel would be caught in the spokes if you simply hit one.

Wow. I almost hit a deer on my bike this fall. Somehow I think the deer would be taking me home to post pictures on the internet.

Wow !!!!! Amazing what that squirrel did. Poor Trek.....

Maybe the bike rider can sue the squirells family for damages!!!

you know he did fall hard because of the picture of the bar tape in the 2nd picture, and the fork completely broken in two on both sides. I would want to see that guys face.

I bet the squirrel isn't going to do that anymore!
